FUTURE CITIES 2050

As cities continue to grow, governments and communities face new challenges related to housing, transportation, environmental protection, and access to essential services. By 2050, a significant portion of the world's population is expected to live in urban areas, making the development of sustainable and inclusive cities increasingly important.

Future cities must balance technological advancement with environmental responsibility while ensuring that all citizens have equal access to opportunities and resources. Issues such as clean energy, public transportation, green spaces, affordable housing, waste management, and public health will play a crucial role in shaping urban life.

Under this agenda, delegates will explore innovative solutions to create cities that are environmentally sustainable, socially inclusive, and capable of improving the quality of life for future generations. Delegates are encouraged to draw upon their understanding of the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), particularly those relating to sustainable cities, climate action, clean energy, and reduced inequalities, while formulating solutions for the cities of tomorrow.
